Organization:
Northern Society for Domestic Peace
Description:

24 Hour Emergency Shelter. A safe and supportive shelter and drop in service in the Bulkley Valley for woman and children experiencing domestic violence, abuse, and/or crises in their lives.

VISION/MANDATE:

Passage House, one of the programs run by the Northern Society of Domestic Peace, is a ten bed transition house for abused women and their children.  We offer a safe, secure and supportive environment for women to look at safe and healthy options for themselves and their children.  Passage House provides an array of services including counseling, childcare support, advocacy, information, safety planning and a 24 hours crisis line.

Stays at the transition house can be for a few nights to up to 30 days for women leaving abuse.

TARGET/GOALS/PRIORITY ISSUE for 2012-2013:

Our ongoing priority is to continue to be here providing quality service to women and their children fleeing abuse and crises in their lives.  We are exploring new ways to support abused women who also deal with addictions and mental wellness.  We realize the importance of networking with other agencies as we often work with and support many of the same clients.  To continue this process is a priority for us.
