Description:

Environmental Health Officers/ Public Health Inspectors carry out inspections of food premises, water systems, pools, hot tubs, salons and parlours, camps, schools. Most of these inspections and water sample results can be found at www.healthspace.ca/nha. EHOs issue Temporary Food Permits (if you are temporary selling or giving out food) and Farmer’s Market Letters Of Approval. EHOs also follow up on cases and outbreaks of communicable diseases which may be acquired from food, water, animals or other persons. EHOs also investigate animal bites to assess risk of rabies. Call your EHO for general information regarding infectious diseases and other environmental health issues; to provide complaint information about a public health issue; or if you have been bitten by an animal.
